Handmade pottery by Clay in Progress
Hello! My name is Lizzie and I'm the maker behind Clay in Progress. I took a pottery class in high school several years ago and hadn't touched clay since until I took a class at a local community studio in 2018. As soon as my hands touched clay again I realized that I was hooked! Currently, I am a full time social work clinician and I love to spend my weekends playing with clay. I find so many parallels between the therapeutic process and the pottery process and hope to one day combine both of my passions into one career- supporting adolescent mental health through a combination of clay art and therapy. As humans, we are all works in progress and are constantly growing and evolving. We will continue to learn and grow throughout our lives. Part of the magic of creating (and living!) for me is in seeing and reflecting on this progress, which is why I began to number the bottoms of my pieces in the summer of 2019. Each unique, individual piece gets numbered so that I can better keep track of my own skill and progress, as well as to easily record glaze combinations. I hope that you find something you like! New pieces are posted as they are unloaded from the kiln- so check back to see the most recent inventory.
