Enchanting Silver Town of Taxco
My first trip to Taxco, Mexico was with my family when I was 7 years old. Raised in Wisconsin by adventurous fun-loving parents, we explored places in Mexico, sometimes steered to new places just by looking at bus schedules!
I fell in love with the historic silver town of Taxco with its meandering cobblestoned roads, lively town square, unbelievable views, warm people, maze-like market, and endless silver shops and workshops. I returned a number of times, always buying some irresistible sterling jewelry for myself. As a young woman living in Chicago, even strangers would compliment and ask about my jewelry. When someone on the train whom I didn’t know asked to buy the ring off my finger, among other people’s questions about how to acquire Taxco silver, I knew it was time to start bringing more of Taxco's special silver jewelry back here for others.
So for 21 years I’ve been heading down on my silver buying missions, up & down the cobblestone hills, repeating my buying mantra: "must love it". Then heading home with beautiful silver jewels to offer to Chicagoans for 21 years and starting in 2026, here on Etsy.
