Glass is a journey
Stained Glass is an evolution. Each piece is transformed by hand from sheets of coloured and textured glass into unique soulful art.
The journey has many stages. It begins with careful glass selection and a pattern. Once the glass is cut and the edges are ground to remove any imperfections each piece is wrapped in copper foil. Next the pieces are fit together like a puzzle and soldered. Washing, applying patina and polishing finishes off the process. The journey then ends with the magical moment when the pattern is moved into the light for the first time.
It gets me every time.
