I have multiple personalities....and they are ALL ARTISTS!
My Art career began about the time I was learning to walk. My parents noticed I loved to look at National Geographics magazines for hours at a time, carefully, without the usual toddler tearing, eating, throwing... So they gave me a blackboard, and I started to draw. I'm not kidding. I started using watercolors in grade school, and I sold a pair of black and white watercolors for $25 each when I was ten, at a school art fair. I didn't even have a price on them. A man walked up and fell in love with them and wanted them for his office. He offered me $50, and I gladly took it--that's a lot of money, when you're only ten! I still remember watching him walk away smiling, with my paintings hugged to his chest.
At age 13, I started painting in oil, and in my 20s, I switched to acrylics, because I felt bad about the solvents that are needed to paint with oils, and clean brushes. In my 30s, I discovered water soluable oils, and now I alternate between those, acrylic, and watercolor. You'll see all three in this shop.
I work in a huge variety of styles. I see things in dreams, and I create them, by painting, sculpting, or however else it shows up. I don't know if I'm channeling or if this is just how art shows up for me. I don't need to know. I'm just happy to receive the messages and make use of them. My best work has always come to me in this way.
People have said that it's unusual for an artist to paint in so many distinctly different styles. I like to say that I have multiple personalities, and they are ALL ARTISTS!
