5 out of 5 starsLOVE this candle - it was a Christmas gift from my son who bought it at a Santa Monica Artisan Craft Faire. I burned through it in less than 3 weeks, and had to have more. I highly recommend this seller and their high quality product.

Behind the scenes, making Brass Moonscapes
𝗛𝗮𝗻𝗱𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝗺𝗲 & 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴
Hello! I’m Heather, the Artist behind Cubelem. Most products I make by hand, with the exception of a few things like crystals. Having grown up in a small town in Upstate NY, where I studied Fine Art and later Design in college, I eventually settled in Southern California where I live now with my husband and two kids (I mean.. cats).
Cubelem (pronounced “cube-el-em”) is a portmanteau word combining “Cube” and “Elements”. It originated from a drawing I did years ago, a geometric symbol that reimagines the elemental pentagram. If you break down the shapes within my Cubelem logo, each square represents one of the five elements; Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit.
My materials are ethically sourced and free of toxins, phthalates, parabens, BPA, zinc, lead and dipropylene glycol (DPG) -- which means my products will not expose you to any harmful chemicals known to cause cancer, reproductive harm or DNA mutations.
Often, my tools and supplies are acquired from other small businesses and fellow Makers. I strive for quality, always with rooted values in repurposing, environmentally-friendly materials and sustainability. Working with careful thought for details, I delight in the idea of a finished projects’ journey once it leaves my hands. I hope you'll follow along @cubelem.

COVID-19 Prevention Policy
As a one-woman operation, I can assure you that all items made and sold by Cubelem are handled with the utmost caution and care from my home studio in California, which also features an industrial air filtration system ensuring the removal of harmful particles throughout my work environment.

Candle Care
• Please let your candle fully liquid pool across the top before extinguishing. This will create a burn "memory" to avoid any tunneling, ensuring an even burn every time.
• Keep wooden wicks trimmed to 1/8” – 3/16”, and not any longer. If the wick is too long, the wax will not pull up the wick, and the flame will dim or even extinguish. Keep cotton wicks trimmed to 1/4".
• Keep out of reach from children and pets!
• Burn should not exceed 4 hours, and be sure to let fully cool before handling.
Candle bubbles, is that normal?
Yes! This particular soy wax is all natural and free of harmful toxins such as parabens and phthalates. Bubbles will often pop to the surface while burning, you may even see a mystical swirl of bubbles below the surface. This cool effect paired with the subtle crackling of Cubelem wood wicks, creates a truly unique and fun candle burning experience!
Are Cubelem candles free of toxins?
Yes, each candle is hand poured with natural soy wax, premium fragrance oils and eco-friendly, FSC certified wood wicks. Made with clean-burning, cruelty-free ingredients free of phthalates, parabens, petrolatum, lead and zinc.
Cubelem candles are all natural with the exception of liquid dye. One full size candle contains approx. 0.003 fl oz. of dye, however the dyes that are used meet the strictest safety standards on the market. They go above and beyond Prop 65 requirements by excluding a wide range of ingredients known to be harmful to human health. This means Cubelem dyes are free from carcinogens mutagens, reproductive toxins, organ toxins, and acute toxins. They’re also vegan friendly.
What to do if my candle won't stay lit?
Once in a while a wick can have trouble staying lit, usually it's because it's become buried in the wax or become too short to light. Not to worry, this issue is resolvable. Here are two things to try. (1) Take a long lighter (or a "heat gun" if you have it) and hold it over the surface of the candle, gently melting the wax just enough to better expose the wick. Once a layer of surface wax is melted, pour it out into a safe container (such as a tin can) and discard. (2) Another option to try is to lightly scrape an even layer of surface wax away with a spoon. Either way, the goal is to remove the top layer of wax and better reveal the wick so that it can breathe. Please contact me directly if you're still having trouble (info@cubelem.com).
How do I clean out my finished candle jar?
To repurpose a candle jar, take a shallow pan and add an inch of water. Place your jar in the pan and heat the water on the stove at a low temperature. Keep a close eye on the jar. After a few minutes, the excess wax should be liquified enough for you to simply pour it out. Be careful to handle the jar with caution (using a mitt if needed) and pour the wax into a heat-safe container (such as a tuna can) that you can then discard. It's best to have on a pair of gloves before taking a paper towel and wiping away the remaining wax. I recommend dabbing the paper towel in isopropyl alcohol to help remove the remaining wax and a spoon to pry the metal wick holder if needed. Finish by washing with soap and water.
How long do your candles burn, and how long will diffusers last?
On average, Cubelem's cotton wick soy candles will burn between 6-8 hours per ounce of wax dependent on usage. Wooden wick soy candles burn slower, by up to 25%, giving your candles a longer lifespan. It's important to let your candle fully pool during the first burn, as this will create a "burn memory" that will set the pace for how your candle will perform during its lifetime. Full pools can usually be reached between 2-3 hours of burning.
Cubelem diffusers will last an average of 3-4 months with continued usage.
What are Wood Wicks?
All natural and cruelty-free, our Crackling Wood Wicks offer a sustainably hand-made alternative to cotton wicks.
CERTIFIED FSC WOOD
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) ensures that products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits.
FREE OF TOXINS
Our biodegradable wood wicks are free of toxins, mutagens and carcinogens, which means they will not expose you to any harmful chemicals known to cause cancer, reproductive harm or DNA mutations.
WHAT TO EXPECT?
After you light, the wax will pull up the wick and begin to circulate the candle’s fragrance throughout the room. You’ll hear a subtle crackling sound as the wooden wick flickers, creating a charming ambiance and unique experience.
