The authors have such an enthusiasm about their subjects that their books are not boring. A real pleasure to learn a bit about the first writings of humanity.

Digital Hammurabi "Complete Beginner" books are as described. I successfully studied Greek and Latin in college, but I bombed out of a Hebrew seminar class after about a week. I purchased Learn to Read Ancient Hebrew to get familiar with how to read Hebrew words when I come across them in Septuagint studies, and I am a true beginner in that I don't know the Hebrew alphabet yet. I am confident that I'll meet my goals based on my experience with the recently released Learn to Read Ancient Akkadian: An Introduction for Complete Beginners. That book has been a lot of fun to dive into, and Joshua Bowen's philosophy of not giving the reader more information than they need makes it well-suited for a self-guided learner.
