I have been making rugs of every kind for many years now. I started with penny rugs, braided rugs locker hook rugs and crocheted rag rugs. It just seemed to be a natural progression into weaving.
I have two floor looms and a frame loom that I work on. There is my Union No. 36 two harness rug loom. It was manufactured in the 1920's in New York. Still works great. The other loom is a Schacht Wolf Pup four harness loom manufactured in 2014. This loom is smaller and I can do more detailed patterns with four harnesses. I use my frame loom to make long heavy rugs with an old technique called twining.
I have a two hundred year old spinning wheel that was my Grandmother's. She found it in an old barn in Kentucky. Learning to spin is my next project.
I use all recycled and Upcycled materials for my rugs and pillows. I use just about anything I can make strips out of.
I set up at local farmer's markets and craft fairs when it is not too hot here in Florida.
Working towards a bigger selection of rugs so please visit often.

5 out of 5 starsGorgeous mat made from plastic grocery sacks! Yes, those flimsy, non-recyclable things polluting our oceans and landfills. CuttingTheRug has taken a sow's ear (those ubiquitous sacks that grocery stores hand out by the truckload) and truly transformed it into a silk purse (this mat). Imagine the total number of sacks she kept out of our oceans by weaving them into what is now a valued item in my household. The mat is tightly woven, airily lightweight, and big enough to lie on at the beach. It's easy to wash in cold water. Its robust, flat texture is pleasing to the touch. Its pure white background features zippy streaks of color from the printing on the sacks; the overall effect is like abstract pop art. I'm keeping it for myself but it could easily make a classy housewarming gift for someone special. Thank you, CuttingTheRug!
