Bonjour! Je m’appelle Veronica et je suis la co-créatrice de Dale+Aran. Je vis aux États-Unis dans le Tennessee avec mon mari (l’autre moitié de Dale+Aran).

J’ai commencé ma page ETSY il y a 7 ans quand je voulais un collier de bavoir à porter pour un mariage mais je n’ai pas pu en trouver un, alors j’en ai fait un! Un propriétaire de magasin m’a vu le porter alors que j’étais en train de magasiner un jour et m’a demandé d’en faire pour vendre. J’ai commencé ma boutique à l’époque et j’en ai vendu quelques-unes, mais la vie est arrivée et ma boutique est restée vide pendant des années.

J’ai changé le nom de notre boutique il y a environ un an lorsque j’ai commencé à travailler avec de l’argile. Dale est le deuxième prénom de mon père, le mien et celui de ma fille. Aran fait partie du prénom de mes filles et c’est mon endroit préféré dans le monde.... les îles d’Aran en Irlande.

Dale signifie vallée et une signification d’Aran est montagne. Donc, en plus d’être littéralement nos noms, les significations des mots nous englobent tous et les choses que nous traversons. Nous devrons tous traverser des vallées et nous pourrons tous gravir des montagnes.

Au cours de la dernière année, j’ai décidé d’essayer de travailler avec de l’argile et mon mari a décidé qu’il allait commencer à travailler le bois. Tout récemment, nous avons uni nos efforts. Cela a commencé quand j’ai pris Zentangle pendant la quarantaine. J’en ai dessiné un sur un bloc de bois fabriqué par Brandon et en quelques semaines, nous fabriquions également des boucles d’oreilles. Brandon est très doué pour penser à de nouvelles façons d’assembler le bois pour créer des motifs inhabituels et pour couper des formes amusantes.

Hello! My name is Veronica and I'm the co-creator at Dale+Aran. I live in the US in Tennessee with my husband (the other half of Dale+Aran).

I started my ETSY page 7 years ago when I wanted a bib necklace to wear to a wedding but couldn't find one, so I made one! A store owner saw me wearing it while I was out shopping one day and asked me to make some to sell. I started my shop then and I sold a few but life happened and my shop sat empty for years.

I changed the name of our shop a year or so ago when I first started working with clay. Dale is my Dad's middle name, mine and my daughter's. Aran is part of my daughters first name plus it is my very favorite place in the world....the Aran Islands in Ireland.

Dale means valley and one meaning of Aran is mountain. So besides literally being our names, the meanings of the words encompass all of us and the things we go through. We will all have to go through valleys and we will all get to climb mountains.

Within the past year I decided to try working with clay and my husband decided he was going to start woodworking. Just recently we joined our efforts. It started when I took up Zentangle during quarantine. I drew one on a wood block Brandon made and within a few weeks we were also making earrings. Brandon is very good at thinking of new ways to put wood together to make unusual patterns and at cutting fun shapes.
