dinosaur spaceship: for the domesticated nerd
growing up, my mom made anything and everything with her own two hands. she handcrafted gifts for birthdays and holidays, crocheted baby blankets for every new tot that toddled by, and sewed every ridiculous costume we asked her for. (my favorite thing is still the mind-bendingly awesome dinosaur costume that i wore every halloween until it simply would not zip up any longer).
when i got older, i lost interest in the handmade and homemade. sadness ensued.
now i'm a grown-ass woman with my own home and my own hunny-bunny and my own dog, and suddenly i have an inexplicable desire to make stuff with my own two hands! to that end, i'm cross-stitching, embroidering, painting, and sewing anything and everything i can get my hands on.
my style leans in two seriously divergent directions: super-fifties-housewife (aprons, gloves, pearls, serving trays, etc.) and nerdy-boy-child (dinosaurs, robots, outer space, monsters, etc.), which means i end up with weird stuff like poodle skirts (with robots and dinosaurs instead of poodles), embroidered handkerchiefs (in bright colors and whimsical scripts), and guitar straps cross-stitched with old-school arcade images.
custom orders and commissions are always welcome. :) thank you so much for looking!
