About

Embrace life. Be joyful. Wear color.

I dye everything with love and care and attention to detail. It's a special responsibility to create a piece of clothing or hank of yarn - something so personal, something so unique... But at the end, each garment I put in my shop has only one job - and that's to make you feel fabulous. And if it's a skein of yarn, its purpose is to become something wonderful in your hands.

About my Yarn Bases
TussaLin (TL)
65% Tussah Silk, 35% Linen, in light fingering/heavy lace weight at 756y/691m/4oz. Wild silk and fluffy linen, rustic, with a matte finish, very soft for linen, knits up light as air and holds a block beautifully. TL is not strong enough to be used as a warp in weaving. Spun in Canada.

FlaxenSilk{cobweb} (FS{c})
Cobweb weight 65% Mulberry Silk, 35% Bleached Linen, 1640y/1500m/100g. Light as air and oh, so elegant. If you're looking for a toothy, gossamer lace that blocks to crisp and shiny perfection, FS{c} is for you. Spun by Camenzind in Switzerland.

FlaxenSilk{lace} (FS{l})
Lace weight 65% Mulberry Silk, 35% Bleached Linen, 875y/800m/100g. Very shiny and utterly elegant, with an almost waxy hand, makes divinely gorgeous lace and holds a block magnificently. Spun by Camenzind in Switzerland.

FlaxenSilk{fingering 4 ply} (FS{f4})
Fingering weight 65% Mulberry Silk, 35% Bleached Linen, 437y/400m/100g. Softer and a bit more plump than her two ply sister, elegant, super shiny, very soft, gorgeous stitch definition. Spun by Camenzind in Switzerland.

FlaxenSilk{fingering 2 ply} (FS{f2})
Fingering weight 65% Mulberry Silk, 35% Linen, 437y/400m/100g. Darker, more natural base color than the rest of her FS sisters, with a smooth, even twist. Gorgeous stitch definition and an elegant, weighty drape. Spun by Camenzind in Switzerland.

FlaxenSilk{double knit} (FS{dk})
DK weight 65% Mulberry Silk, 35% Bleached Linen, 273y/250m/100g. The biggest sister of the FS family, this one has a lovely sheen and a definite twist, fabulous texture, divine drape. Perfect for an elegant cardi or top. Spun by Camenzind in Switzerland.

SilkenSea{lace} (SS{l})
Lace weight 70% Mulberry Silk, 30% SeaCell, 875y/800m/100g. Luscious sheen, smooth twist, drapy and oh, so elegant. Lovely in anything lacy. Spun by Camenzind in Switzerland.

SilkenSea{fingering} (SS{f})
Fingering weight 70% Mulberry Silk, 30% SeaCell, 437y/400m/100g. Exactly the same as her lacy sister SS{l}, but with twice the plies. Utterly delicious and totally luxe. Spun by Camenzind in Switzerland.

PurBamboo{heavy lace} (PB{hl})
Heavy Lace weight 100% Bamboo, 694y/616m/150g. Very shiny, lovely to knit, gorgeous stitch definition, blocks beautifully. Spun in Canada.

muBamboo{light fingering} (mB{lf})
Light Fingering weight multi-stranded 100% Bamboo, 694y/616m/150g. Made of 6 bamboo strands, unplied. This yarn is very easy on the hands, with an amazing drape, lovely texture, and luscious sheen - perfect for garments, lacy shawls, and any woven projects. Due to its stranded composition, mB{lf} is not for everyone - learn more by visiting the test thread: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/envision/3463663/

muBamboo{cobweb} (mB{c})
Cobweb weight multi-stranded 100% Bamboo, 1390y/1270m/100g. Made of 2 bamboo strands, unplied. Even though it's cobweb, it's got a tooth and isn't too slippery. Perfect for cobweb projects, this yarn has gorgeous stitch definition and a delicious hand. Like its big sister, mB{c} is not for everyone - learn more by visiting the test thread: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/envision/3518538/

About Shibori
Shibori is the ancient Japanese technique of creating resists for dye. I use hand-stitched resists, such as ori-nui (running stitch over folded cloth, for spirals, stems, and other lines and curves), hira-nui (running stitch on a single layer of cloth, for lines), maki-nui (chevron lines), awase-nui (intersecting arcs, for leaves), ne-maki (little circles), maki-age (bound fabric within a shape for flowers), and mokume-nui (parallel rows of running stitch, for wood grain like striations).
