Flowers for the Guiding Sisterhood
Vintage buttons from Brownie and Girl Guide uniforms are paired with vintage uniform fabric to create these beautiful flowers.
The striped fabric is from the adult uniforms designed by Alfred Sung in the 1980s. The brown fabric is from vintage Brownies dresses.
For the fabrics for the colours of the branches of Guiding, we searched and found the same colour. Whew! no, we didn't cut up a uniform tshirt! But we did find one the same colour to use for these flowers!
Add a pin to the back to make a brooch; or add one or more flowers to a headband or your purse, backpack, or anywhere you need a great floral embellishment.
I first learned how to make these flowers from the Sisterhood of the Flower group on facebook.
The fabric from adult uniform skirts provided large enough pieces that we could also add backpacks to our inventory. These wil be limited production since we won't have access to many skirts.
Net proceeds of all sales will be donated to e-guiding.com to assist with website fees.
Please contact us if you'd like a custom order! Maybe you want to buy several - or maybe the combination of fabric and button you'd like for a flower isn't listed - contact us and we'll see what we can do!
