artist kid becoming more myself everyday while learning diligence in daily creating
I started my etsy store back when i lived in my first solo apartment. The sufjan stevens Illinoise album playing in the background as I block printed and made sewing patterns for wallets and stuffed animals in an apartment the sized of a large closet in Denton, Texas walking distance from the library and thai food.
A lot of growing and changing has happened since then. I love all forms of creating and so I've tried a lot of different forms. I find it so interesting that your style is a bit different with every medium. 35mm photography (with Boken, expired film, free lens and double exposures mainly of nature), sewing and sewing patterns (of clothing, accessories and stuffed animals), knitting and knitting patterns (of arm warmers, socks, small animals and fruit), embroidery, weaving, spinning yarn, painting (with watercolor, gouache, acrylic and oil), printing (by screen printing, carved block printing), fabric patterns, fabric dyeing(indigo, tie dye, dip dye), fabric printing, drawing, jewelry (by metal working, polymer clay and ceramics), ceramics
ceramics is my latest and current love, I've been making beads, pipes, planters, tumblers, and we'll see what comes in time. As a kid I was in a lot of art classes and afterschool hangouts that involved working with clay, acrylic paints and oil pastels. I've been wanting to work with clay since my last ceramic class back in 2007 and this past November 2014 a lady at a local church offered a free ceramics class. Through that class my love for working with clay was reignited. I've been making small objects and shapes at home and any time I have a moment, I bring a small amount of clay and all I need to create with me in my purse, a ceramic studio kit.
I find great importance in spending time outside tending to nature. "I have a garden" is an understatement. My best friend + husband Jamin and I live in a small space designed around the main function of being a studio and everything else secondary. I love creating art with others together.
