Working with Liz was amazing! She was able to customize the garland exactly as I wanted, even better actually. Delivery was also very prompt. I could not love this garland more!!!

About

I am a soon-to-be empty-nester with a lot of time, yarn, and inspiration on my hands...

The || FANCY FLAMINGO || story started with a dining room table. When we moved in to our current home about ten years ago, I was in a serious Martha Stewart beach/Shabby Chic kind of phase, so when I saw this beat-up seven foot long table that looked like a beach boardwalk on top, and had faded blue paint on the sides, I had to have it... I sweet talked my neighbor into driving his truck out to the Seacoast to fetch my treasure, it took four of us to drag it into the empty dining room, and it fit the room perfectly! My euphoria lasted until I pulled up a chair and tried to sit at the table... My knees hit the pretty blue side boards, and the top of the table was chest high. Ugh, my bad. Well, fortunately, we are not dining room people, we are eat-in kitchen people :)

So, this beautiful old scarred table is now called into traditional service only on the high food holidays, where it becomes an epic dessert buffet... I'm a baker, not a cook, don't judge me. The other 361 days each year, it becomes the staging area for my many creative ventures, as well as my kids' academic projects back in the day. There was my quilting phase, where the table was covered with fat quarters of fabric, and the jigsaw pieces of quilt assembly (admittedly not ideal, due to the protruding nails and rough surface of my 'dock' table). Then there came my scrapbook years, where fabric was replaced by 12x12 sheets of paper and many, many stickers. Baby showers, graduations, school projects and birthdays were all staged here...

Now, as my nest empties (only one high school senior remains), I have enjoyed seeing where my love of yarn takes me... of course, my beloved table is, again, not fiber friendly due to splinters, so a table cloth is necessary. I never know where the yarn will take me on any given day, but it is such fun :) I love that a bright tassel garland can be a party decoration one day, then an installation in a child's room the next. I love how a modern design aesthetic is warmed and complemented by the fibers of yarn tassels. I love bringing a customer's vision to life. What can I create for you??!
