I have allergies. What should I know about your home and your products?
I work from a non-smoking home with wood floors & one cat. I clean with unscented products. For those with severe sensitivities to dust and mold, please be aware that I live in an older home.
How do you make your block prints?
I transfer my sketch to a linoleum block with carbon paper, stain the block with ink, and carve by hand. I make smaller prints in my Woodzilla printing press, and print larger pieces by hand with a bamboo baren or wooden spatula. Check out my Instagram for process videos!
Who makes your printed products?
I make all my art prints and greeting cards at home using a Canon Pixma Pro 200 printer. I use Canon and Red River papers. While my printer and inks are professional quality, my prints are not true "giclées" and sometimes have faint horizontal or vertical lines visible at close inspection.
My postcards and stickers are manufactured in the US by Vistaprint and Vinyl Disorder, respectively.
Patches and block prints are printed by me, entirely by hand. Imperfections and variations are part of the beauty of printmaking, as they make each print truly unique.
Why is (international) shipping so high? Can I get cheaper shipping?
My shipping prices reflect the postage cost + the cost of envelopes, rounded to the nearest dollar.
International postage from the US averages about $20. I'm often asked if I can send international orders by letter mail. Unfortunately, this would violate customs law and also mess up my workflow and bookkeeping.
As an alternative, I can offer digital downloads of my illustrations upon request, so you can print them at home or at a local print shop.
