How I stumbled into my little paper flower business...
When my husband and I were planning our wedding, we wanted it to be fun and joyful, both for our guests and ourselves. And we wanted it to reflect our values and our own unique partnership. Live flowers are gorgeous, but traditional arrangements just weren't right for us.
As an eco-conscious couple, we looked for fun alternatives and eventually I decided to create our own from my "handgrown" paper flowers.
We also discovered that (bonus!) our decorations could be shared with friends and family after the big day. So, for the next few months, our house bloomed into a paper flower laboratory...and my love affair began.
Once the wedding was over, I was hesitant to leave my new creative outlet behind. So I opened my Etsy shop and started selling my paper flowers.
Over the years, I've been lucky enough to work with over a hundred couples, adding a little paper flower magic to their dream weddings. I've also expanded into gifts, art installations, and other custom work. I've worked with Papyrus Paper Stores (creating part of their summer wedding window displays for 200 US locations), Nordstrom (creating decorations for 5 US locations), as well as Southern Bride and Groom Magazine.
FlowerThyme has been an incredible experience, most of all because I've gotten to meet and work with so many amazing individuals along the way. I'm excited and humbled to see what's next...
Thanks for checking out my shop.
