Fomato is a card line inspired by watercolor, and Taiwanese and Japanese stationery.

A portion of proceeds are donated to Ashoka Changemakers, a global network of social entrepreneurs, innovators and activists creating positive changes in their communities.

The cards are written and painted by Emmie Hsu, who grew up in Kansas and spent summers in Taiwan, where she and her sisters wandered around eating street food, petting stray dogs and scratching their 200+ mosquito bites, and then going into stationery stores and rubbing their grimy hands all over beautiful notebooks, stationery and stickers. The interesting items they drooled over in those shops inspired this line.

Fomato Cards have been sold in the U.S., Canada, Japan and Europe, in places such as London’s Design Museum, Paper Source, Grand Central Terminal, Powell’s City of Books, Amoeba Music, The National Ballet of Canada, Harvard Book Store, and Kinokuniya.
