Let's create something special!
Fran Miller is a mixed media artist known for nostalgic oilcloth crafting and photography inspired by people and nature.
Born in New Jersey, raised in Florida and now residing in South Carolina since 1980.
Fran’s early years were affected by the crafty and talented family members surrounding her. Now, as a grandmother, mother, and wife for 63 years, her photography skills add essential elements to displaying her oilcloth works.
Though best known for oilcloth Bible covers and accessories, Fran loves spending as much time as she can with her grandchildren.
Crafting with oilcloth began when her daughter ordered a Cath Kidston oilcloth Bible cover from England. She loved it, and after examining the cover she said, “I could make this,” and she did!
While admitting there was a definite learning curve, she continues to enjoy working with oilcloth more each day.
Do you remember your grandmother’s oilcloth tablecloth? Working with the medium of oilcloth is a daily joy that brings her back those precious memories of home.
Fran works from a home studio in Elgin, South Carolina, about twenty minutes from Columbia.
