Helen Boxwill has been working in Ethiopia for 23 years, discovering talented artisans working in various media. We channel this creativity to develop accessories that will represent who they are and enable them to earn a sustainable living> Now they can not only support themselves and their families, further develop their skills and art, and provide beautiful products for sale. We have worked with deaf primary school children who were taught how to make paper beads into lovely necklaces. women with fistula, waiting for life transforming surgery also learned to create paper necklaces. Young jewelry makers were given opportunities to design and produce made to order unique and beautiful jewelry. Local weavers are creating their own designs and weaving our scarves with artistic talent and a labor of love.

h2 Empower has built a large community library in rural Ethiopia, sent thousands of books to schools throughout the country, trained hundreds of teachers, put water in a school and community and built classrooms in Ethiopia,.We are currently providing university scholarships to vulnerable and bright students in Burundi. Funds that we raise will help us work with female teachers to support their work with girls clubs as role models for today's rural female students and buy computers for the library.
