Announcement   I came to metal work by accident answering an ad for an artist’s assistant. It all worked out well though. As it turns out I like to hit stuff.

I am very proud to be a member of Austin Craft Riot. Search teamaustincraftriot to view the work of our talented folks.
All of my work is made of stainless steel so it will not tarnish over time. The metal is hand cut with tin snips and polished to a shine. It is then heated for color and hand hammered with a ball-pein hammer. Each pattern is created individually with a hand cut mask. If you have any special requests or questions please do contact me.

The most unique and well made knife block I've ever come across! Beautiful work!

The clock is attractive however, the mechanism doesn't function properly. I immediately contacted the shop to communicate the issue. They responded promptly & offered to send out a new mechanism. It's been weeks & I have yet to receive the replacement mechanism.

About

If it doesn't need a hammer then I don't make it.

I am a metal worker living in Austin Texas. I have worked for other metalsmiths over the last decade, and decided to try out my own designs. Smithing of any sort has a tradition of making functional items that are beautiful. I try very hard to keep that balance. Currently I work in stainless steel. I like it best because I do not have to worry about it tarnishing or rusting later on. I form the metal cold with ball pein hammers and wood blocks. The metal is formed cold, so that it retains strength. If you have any requests or suggestions please feel free to contact me, I love getting new ideas, and making custom work. My work as it happens is very green. It will last forever so you will not have to replace it, but if you decided you did not want it you could put it in the recycle bin. The steel I use is made from about 60% recycled materials to start. There are no paints or chemicals used in the finish process, and my shop is powered by solar panels and elbow grease. I did not set out to make such sustainable work, but sometimes you get to where you should be without even trying.

I always thought I would be a photographer, but one day I went on a job interview for a metal smith and I was hooked. I see things in pieces and am always making shapes with paper. I love to make.
