5 out of 5 starsReally like this pattern. Instructions were easy to follow. This one was my first sample with this pattern. I think my next one I might widen the side panels and the bottom panel to give it a little more room, and perhaps lengthen the hand straps. Other than that I love it!

4 out of 5 starsReally liked the simplicity design of this bag, it looks great in waxed canvas. I’m glad I have sewing experience, as there were a couple times the steps weren’t that clear, but it was a nice bag to sew and I will definitely be making another. Just a quick FYI - pg 18 pocket 1E and page 19 Pocket 2 E are to be put on the fold of the fabric at the E, not taped together, pg 18 is the outer fabric, pg 19 the lining. This is for the back slip pocket.
Thank you! Stacy -

3 out of 5 starsI am so disappointed by this pattern. The bag is gorgeous, and as a confident beginner/ amateur, who has made dozens of different types of bags before, I knew I’d have no trouble following this pattern.
I was wrong. I have never been so stressed sewing before.
The measurements seem out of whack (the 1 inch d ring is too small for the measurements of the strap, and I know I haven’t made a mistake, double and triple measuring to make sure) the instructions are painfully vague in parts, where the author presumes you know what they are meaning.
I’m pulling my hair out. I’m having to re write the pattern in parts to make it work.
It has literally made me want to hang up my scissors for good.
It’s upsetting because I was making this for a gift too. And it’s such a wonderful bag design, I just give up with it :(

When I'm designing a new PDF Pattern I spend a lot of time making the same item over and over to work out all the bumps.

Designing new bags is always a highlight for me. I love a bag that is both functional and durable.
My Therapy
I love to sew just about everything but my favorite is designing and sewing handbags, a few years ago my husband suggested I start making my own handbags so I thought I'd give it a shot. I can't count how many bags I've made since then and I'd be embarrassed to tell you how many I've kept for myself.
At one point in my sewing journey I realized I just couldn't continue to make more bags for myself, I needed to start selling them. My favorite part of selling what I create is that my hobby has suddenly gone from costing me money to allowing me to spend what I want on supplies when I want with a bit of extra spending money on the side.
Aside from handbags I've gotten quite fond of sewing clothes for my kids, especially my little girl. It amazes me that I can sit down and sew a dress for her in the same amount of time it would take me to drive to the mall and buy one.
I stay at home with my kids and love it but as Mom I find I just need something for me. Something besides the cooking, cleaning, and playing with toys and that's where my etsy shop and sewing comes in. I love the community on etsy and some of the people I've met on here have become a daily part of my life.
Aside from being a Mom and running Handmade Therapy Kids and Handmade Therapy I'm also interested in a number of things.
Archery: I've been into archery and bowhunting for almost 15 years. It's a love I share with my husband and now my kids as well!
Gardening/Local Food: My family and I have spent a lot of time turning a decent part of our yard into gardens. We believe in locally grown organic food and what a better way to achieve that than to grow it ourselves!
Urban Beekeeping: Although we've only had our bees for a few months I can't wait to learn more about them over time.

Shipping
I ship via Canada Post, regular mail, unless you want it faster - contact me if you do. You will responsible for any additional charges flowing from alternative shipping. I can send a revised invoice with the new shipping charges for expedited shipping times.
I do ship international - please contact me if you have any concerns. You may have to pay customs, duties or taxes on your purchase in your jurisdiction. If you need a tracking number please contact me as Canada Post charges a high fee for this. Again I can send a revised invoice with the new shipping charges if you’d like a tracking number.
Shipping to countries other than Canada can take a lot of time - often more than 2 weeks to the US (sometimes up to a full month) and much longer abroad, although some packages to the US get through Customs in a few days. For this reason, I cannot consider international packages lost until at least one month has passed.
If you live in or around Calgary, I’m happy to waive your shipping costs if you’d like to pick your item up. Please contact me for a local pickup coupon code to waive the shipping charge.
Feel free to contact me if you’d like your item sent as a gift and would like it gift wrapped or a note card included. Please also confirm the shipping address you would like your gift sent to.
If your PayPal shipping address and Etsy shipping address are different I will contact you and wait 2 days for a response. If I have not heard back in the 2 days I will automatically ship to your Etsy address.
