Siempre me han encantado los animales. Especialmente salvando perros callejeros. Los que perdieron el rumbo y que nadie más quería.
Cuando tenía 10 años más o menos, solía sentarme durante horas y hablar con nuestro cocker spaniel Sandy. Fue nuestro primer perro y lo amaba mucho. Esto fue hace algún tiempo, cuando los perros y los gatos fueron relegados al exterior, (al menos en nuestra casa)... así que tendría que salir al porche para sentarme con Sandy, a veces en el más frío de los inviernos del Medio Oeste, pero oh.... no importaba. Sandy me escuchó cuando nadie más lo hizo. .. me escuchó cuando lloré, mientras le decía que la abuela había muerto, o que mi padre no volvería a casa, o simplemente en mi emoción en Navidad cuando salí corriendo para mostrarle a Sandy lo que Santa había traído.
A partir de ese momento siempre tuve un canino o un felino como parte de mi viaje. .. Siempre sentí que nuestros queridos mejores amigos son guías de alguna manera ... que nos lleven a un lugar mágico... un lugar infantil de desenfado... comprensión.. y la espontaneidad...
A diferencia de una tarjeta de notas en blanco tradicional ...

I’ve always loved animals. Especially saving strays. Those that lost their way and that nobody else wanted.
When I was 10 or so, I used to sit for hours and talk to our cocker spaniel Sandy. He was our first dog and I loved him dearly. This was sometime ago, when dogs and cats were relegated to the outside, ( at least in our house )… so I would have to go out on the porch to sit with Sandy, sometimes in the coldest of the Midwest winters, but oh.... it didn’t matter. Sandy listened to me when nobody else did. ..he listened to me when I cried, as I told him that grandma died, or that my father wasn’t coming back home, or simply in my excitement at Christmas when I ran outside to show Sandy what Santa had brought..
From that time on I always had a canine or a feline as a part of my journey.. .. I always felt that our beloved best friends are guides in someway… that they take us to a magical place... a childlike place of lightheartedness … understanding.. and spontaneity …
