5 out of 5 starsI have ordered several Louis Icart prints recently from different vendors and this was one of the best quality pieces that I have received. Definitely recommend this vendor.

Frequently asked questions
Quality of the art prints / posters
For our art prints we offer different paper combination. The most used one is a premium matte 200 gsm paper with high quality inks that guarantee a beautiful final printed image without reflections and with great sharpness. But we are now also offering other types like the Museum heavy weight quality paper 250gr with no optical brighteners for maximum time permanence with no fading, or the Fine Art Paper,200gr- reproduced on Ink Printers with very detailed prints and longevity. For those that prefer a touch of gloss we also offer sometimes premium semigloss paper.
I have a problem with the delivery or with the product
If your product does not arrive, arrives damaged or you are not satisfied with the quality please let us know . We will do everything we can to solve the issue for you.
Delivery and post
We work with a print provider that has printing facilities around the world. Why we have chosen this instead of printing from one location ?
1- Custom delays or extra charges are much less common. As we print from the main countries in the world, the product does not cross borders and that means less delays or charges at customs.
2- The Carbon FootPrint is much less. If the products are producing in the same country as the destination, less energy is used to transport those goods.
3- Speed of delivery. Products reach their destination much quicker if they are produced in the same country of the client or one close to it than sending from a far away part of the world.
Can I cancel my order before arrival ?
In the first 2 hours you can cancel an order. After that it is no longer possible as the print order is sent to the printing lab and it cannot be cancelled anymore by our shop. In that case you will have to wait until your order arrives and if you want to return it you have 14 days from the date of arrival.
Artificial Intelligence use -AI- In Historicalimages.
None of our artworks for sale at Historicalimages are generated with AI. We see many shops that have the name of a known artist under an AI image. We don't do that. The artworks here are of real persons and we do not create AI images "inspired" by known artists.
We use AI to research background information about artworks and artists. We use Photoshop to retouch and colour grade the artworks. Sometimes the original scans are very deteriorated, and we have to retouch imperfections like scratches, dust, missing pieces, place the cartography on a better paper. But what you see is real and created by a human person in the past.
We may use AI mockups to show the artwork like framed in environment to show the artwork but never the artwork itself.
What about customs , taxes and other charges with international orders
We work with quite a few printing labs around the world to avoid the complexities of sending prints across countries. It seems that every year new hurdles appear to make this more difficult. That is the reason that most of our orders are produced locally, in a printing lab in your country.
We do this so that custom fees are 0 in the USA, Canada, all over Europe, Australia, Japan, and most countries. The speed of delivery is also much improved with giving the order to local production facilities and the environment footprint much less.
In the very rare cases where a country is not in our list with local production facilities it is the customer who is responsible for this situation. But 99% of our order destinations do not face this issue.
Are your artworks in the Public Domain
Yes. Most if not all the images that are for sale here have their copyright expired, usually because in most countries 70 years after the death of the author of an artwork enters the Public Domain. Those artworks can be used by anyone. But there are some implications that we follow and unfortunately many other people selling historic artworks don't.
The most important is giving credit to the author that created the piece of art. It is not fair what we see often here were some stores claim they created the artwork because they did minor retouching. We will always credit the author if we know who she/ he is.
What happens if a parcel is not collected?
If a parcel is returned because the recipient did not collect it after carrier notifications, shipping and return shipping costs will be deducted from any refund. After two separate uncollected orders, future replacement shipments may be refused. As all prints are made to order, uncollected items are not always returned to our facilities and may be destroyed by the printing partner.
