Ruby's painting has a sense of whimsy that I really like. Her creatures and plants would not be viewed as an attempt at accurate rendering. They are more like a fantasy version of the real thing, like from a fairy tale illustration. The colors have a richness and are iridescent, so they sparkle from certain angles, which also contributes to that impression of fantasy. I am very happy that I decided to buy this piece.
