Heavy Earrings Hack
Cut about 1 inch of tape and create a loop with it so that the sticky side is out. Make sure the loop is small enough so that you can hide it behind your earlobe. Stick it to the back of your earlobe, behind the hole. Put the earring through the hole and make sure it pokes through the tape. Put on the earring back and make sure that it sticks to the tape. Quick Earring Fixes
TIGHTEN PUSH-BACK EARRING BACKS
Unfortunately, all earring backs (known as nuts) will get looser. The curly ones known as butterfly clutches, are easy to fix. Use a pair of pliers to push the two coils together (gently) to make the space between them smaller (tighter) for the post to fit through. Video ~ https://youtu.be/qA6Xdiza-Qw
POST FELL OFF
If you don't have B-6000 glue or a soldering iron, super glue will do in a pinch. However, you have to be careful because the glue is very sticky and dries quickly. Use a toothpick to apply a tiny bit to the surface you want to stick to. Quickly stick the post on, hold for a second, and let dry. Video ~ https://youtu.be/zuK-KzD7c8w
Undo a Necklace Chain Knot
Try using a needle, a safety pin, or a toothpick. If the point is small enough, you may be able to get it into the knot and gently work it loose. Video ~ https://youtu.be/dJQL0sWpKyQ
Easy Way to Secure Earrings / Lost Post Earring Backs
Silicone or rubber ear nuts can be easily replaced and they are inexpensive. You can get a bunch of them to use as backups for all your post earrings.
For fish hook / shepherd hook / wire earrings, rubber or silicone ear backs will also help secure these earrings, preventing them from slipping. More info ~ https://bit.ly/2RPzKeU
Jewelry Turned Skin Green / Black
It is a result of a metal in the jewelry reacting to your skin or something on your skin (such as lotion). The stain isn't harmful, and even pricey jewelry can have that effect. It all depends on the material.
The stain will usually disappear within a few hours. For a quicker solution, use nail polish remover or makeup remover to clean off the stain.
You can try painting clear nail polish on the inside of the ring. This puts a barrier between your skin and the metal. More info ~ https://www.refinery29.com/en-us/jewelry-turning-skin-green
