How It All Began
It all started when little Ivon was introduced to colored pencils and a drawing book. I remember I loved to draw and color so much and they just became my passion ever since I remember.
Fast forward a few years, I chose Interior Design as my major in a university in Indonesia. Although it was against my parent's suggestion, I'm really glad that I followed my guts! Interior Design taught me the basics of what I do today. And at the end, my parents were also glad that I chose that major. After graduation, I continued my career in Singapore for 8 years, and boy, I learned a lot.
Moving on to the next chapter of my life. I don't know what I did to deserve this, but through a common friend, I met my forever best friend a.k.a my husband, Patrick. And I decided to move to Los Angeles to start our lives together.
On our wedding day, to channel my passion (and to stay within our budget), we did all of our wedding stationeries ourselves. From the church program, wedding invitations, table numbers, and of course, my favorite of them all... the place cards! I love love writing names for place cards. And this is the inception of inLoftCalligraphy. I did not have a formal background as a calligrapher. But through many trials and errors, I finally found my style and was confident to formalize the business in 2015. I'm blessed and proud to say that some of my works were featured in Style Me Pretty, Magnolia Rouge, 100 Layer Cakes, The Knot and many more.
In 2018, God trusted us with a little baby boy, and we were beyond blessed! I put my business on a back burner for a while to focus on this little human. But we are fully back in business now in 2019!
I love calligraphy and I'm proud to say that every single item that I make, it comes from my passion and my love for art and calligraphy. And I'm really looking forward to share my passion with you!
