From Snowboarding to Watercolor

I live and work in the beautiful mountains of Colorado, which inspire much of my artwork. I was drawn to Colorado because it was an opportunity to purse my other passion, which is snowboarding. In the winter, I coach an amazing team of kiddos under age 12 in competitive freestyle snowboarding.

After a couple years of seasonal employment and dabbling in watercolor in my spare time, I realized I could employ myself through watercolor! I asked my sister, Melanie, if she wanted to help me get Ink and Element going. With Melanie's background in graphic design, my love of watercolor, and our past experience making my own wedding invitations, we knew we'd be the perfect team.

We love making invitations for any and all clients! Check out our shop and send us a message - we love custom orders too!

Frequently asked questions
Custom and personalized orders

We love custom orders! If you have an idea for an item that you would like us to make for you, send us a message! Any of the items you see listed can be formatted for any event. All we have to do is change the wording, so keep that in mind when shopping. The possibilities are endless! We can even create custom prints for you to decorate your home or office.

Pricing varies depending on what you are looking to have made. The simpler the piece, the less expensive it will be. We want to do our best to work with your budget, so do contact us and we can get a discussion going.

Sizing details

We generally create our invitations, information cards, and RSVP cards in the following sizes, but we can adjust them to fit your needs:

Invitation: 5x7" (fits A7 envelope)
Information: 4x6"
RSVP: 4.25x5.5" (fits A2 envelope)

If you'd like a different size, please send us a message. We are only able to accommodate standard envelope sizes at this time, so keep that in mind when considering alternate sizes.

Returns or Exchanges

We cannot offer returns or exchanges to our current listings. The reason for this is that each of them is custom - we personally take the time to add your name and information to each piece. We will gladly send you proofs of your items via email, and we won't print until we receive final approval from you.

For wedding invitations, we have the option for you to purchase physical proofs. This is to protect both you and us from unmet expectations. This way, you have a physical invitation in your hands and can make an informed decision before committing to dozens, maybe hundreds of invitations. If for some reason you don't like the sample, send us a message and we will do everything we can to exceed your expectations!

Our Process

Our pieces begin with original, hand-painted watercolor artwork that Mandy paints and later scans into her computer at 600 ppi (we have very few exceptions to this, but sometimes will purchase artwork that we find delightful). After that, we edit the scans in Photoshop to ensure they will re-print to look as close to the original as possible. From there, we arrange our artwork and your wording so that the final piece is an invitation both you and your guests will love! They are printed on 100lb cardstock at a local print shop with a reputation for the highest quality. We can upgrade your paper to 130lb for an additional fee. The print shop staff ensures that the colors are accurate and that the final piece is stunning.

It is impossible to guarantee that the color on screen will appear exactly as it will on the final print. Each screen displays color differently, so the print may vary slightly from what you see. If you purchase a sample, but you do not like the color, message us and we will match your color requests as accurately as possible!

Turnaround Time

We can generally send digital proofs within 24 hours of receiving your payment and wording requests. The faster we get proof approval, the faster the process overall! This part usually takes between 1 and 5 days, and varies from client to client.

Once we receive proof approval from you, our turnaround time is as follows:

Printing: 5-7 Business Days
Shipping: 1-3 Business Days (USPS Priority)

Overall, you can expect to have your invitations in hand between 6-10 business days after proof approval.

We can accommodate rush orders for an extra fee.

Rush Orders

Yes, we can accommodate rush orders! With a rush order, the printing process will take 1-3 business days. Most clients are OK if we still ship USPS Priority, but we can use a different shipping method if you need.

If you only want to rush printing, the price varies depending on how much you are purchasing. Priority shipping is included with this. If you'd like to upgrade shipping, we will charge you the difference in the upgraded shipping costs.
