Not only are the bookmarks perfect, Jane was extremely helpful and accommodating when I messaged her. Highly recommend the items and the shop itself!

a tiny shop filled with tiny things

I've been unintentionally creating miniature art since I was kid. Every craft I tried, every art medium I dabbled in, always turned out half the size I was going for. Cross stitch projects intended for an 8x10 frame turned out smaller than a postcard. Origami kits promising life-sized flowers, in my hands turned into dollhouse bouquets. Drawings on a piece of printer paper became postage-stamp-sized doodles.

Whatever wiring in my brain was causing me to tend toward the miniature, eventually I learned to embrace the tiny-ness.

In 2010, I started experimenting with nail art after realizing there were ten tiny canvases at the ends of my fingertips, and in 2012, I became a licensed nail artist. I never worked with gems, and couldn't stand painting flowers, so I just painted what I loved: pop culture, cartoons, video games, food. I wasn't sure how people would react to those motifs, but I was super happy to find fans of my work. My nails were featured in Nails Magazine, Nail It!, GQ, Bon Appetit, Nailpro, on News 4 New York, and at the Spring 2014 Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. I won Nails Magazine's Mini Masterpiece contest, and was a Top 7 contestant in the Next Top Nail Artist 2013 competition.

But I wanted everyone who loved what I loved to have my quirky nail art stamp on their fingertips. Traveling the world to make that happen was pretty impractical, so in 2013, I started scheming.

Jane's Tiny Things started in January of 2014 with a small collection of waterslide decals featuring my illustrations. The goal was to find other nerdy gamer-and-tv-loving junk food addicts who would identify with my style and want to show the world their love of silly things like diner desserts and Saved By the Bell on their fingernails. My husband and I agreed on taking a few months to try the business out, so I quit my job, took a deep breath, and jumped in.

And the great thing was, I found my people! David Bowie-obsessed fans who died over the fact that they could add him to their fingernails in an instant. BFFs who discovered the perfect "thank you for being a friend" Golden Girls decals gift for each other. My artwork has been featured on the Huffington Post, Paste Magazine, MTV.com, and Bustle.

In late 2015, I decided to appeal to the other side of my nerdy self and came out with a line of cute little magnetic bookmarks featuring your favorite characters and your favorite quotes.

Orders typically ship within 2 business days. You will receive an email as soon as your order goes out.

Your shipping rate is based upon weight and is calculated by the USPS, but it's typically fairly low since each item in the shop is pretty light. The USPS recently increased its pricing for international shipping. I understand that often your shipping price will be higher than the price of the item itself, but unfortunately there is currently no lower-priced alternative. I cannot ship your item in a regular envelope with a stamp, as there is no ability to track those packages and I cannot do anything to help if your package is lost in the mail. Also, because of the thickness of the envelope, your item would be more likely to be lost in transit.

Within the US, a first class package should arrive within 1-5 business days, but may take a little longer during times of high shipping volume (around Christmas, for example). Outside of the US, you should expect a wait time of between 7-21 business days to most locations.

Priority Mail shipping is also available, which includes tracking and a faster shipping time (1-3 days in the US, and 6-10 days to most locations outside of the US).

All shipments (including standard mail) come with insurance. If your item is damaged in transit, please contact us for a replacement. If your package seems to be taking an unusually long amount of time to arrive, let us know and we can look into our options to refund or replace.
Refunds and Exchanges
Each tiny thing is handmade by me, and packaged and shipped in my office with my final approval. All sales are final. If your package was damaged in shipment and your tiny thing was affected, please email me a picture of the item and packaging immediately and I will try to resolve the issue immediately.
Additional policies and FAQs
If you place an order and realize that you have inputted the wrong shipping address, please CANCEL your order and place a new one with the correct address. Etsy labels are processed using the address that you input with your order.

Frequently asked questions

Custom and personalized orders

All of my products feature my own illustrations. If you like my style and would like to commission some artwork from me to be made into nail decals or a bookmark, email me and we can chat about it! I'm always open to drawing your bf's face or your favorite foods or characters. However, I will not recreate another artist's work, or print a photo of yours, or an image you found on the internet, and being able to do custom work is entirely dependent on how busy I am.

Gift wrapping and packaging

If you are sending your item as a gift, please let me know in the notes so I don't add in a receipt. I'm also always happy to add in a hand-written note with your wording!

Wholesale availability

We sell our items wholesale to all kinds of shops, so if you're interested in carrying our line, check us out on Etsy Wholesale, or send us an email to check out our current line sheet.
