Fabric Folk
As many things in life, you learn through your family members. Sewing was exactly that for me. I can recall watching my mother and grandmother sew by hand and machine. I guess It was in my DNA to sew. I took lessons as a child and then went on to study textiles and retail in college. While I don't sew that much clothing anymore, I discovered the world of quilting, monogramming and bag making. Sometimes, I'm able to combine the techniques to provide a personalized item.
Several years ago I started making knitting bags for my dear friends who all knit like fiends. They were so encouraging and supportive in opening my Etsy Shop in 2018. We try and gather on a routine basis to collaborate, show off our WIP and share craft time together. I love being a part of community that appreciates handmade items and knowing that a little piece of jdstudios480 is on an adventure somewhere.
