Two people, two cats, and a lot of colored pencils

Jempi Designs is a small two-person studio behind every card you'll find here. James is the artist - he draws everything by hand with colored pencil and ink, building textures one layer at a time until the page feels warm and a little alive. Kandra runs the business side and makes sure the work gets out into the world.
Jempi Designs began out of James' love for art and drawing, and because we wanted to make the kind of cards we'd actually want to send: hand-drawn, a little whimsical, full of small details, like flowers spilling out of pitchers, bees doing important business, animals throwing parties for each other. Our two cats, Pesto and Sumac, also tend to make appearances. (They insist.)
Every design starts as a sketch, gets layered in colored pencil and sometimes ink, all by hand, then scanned.
