About

Frivolity...

I love working with clay.
But I have a problem.
I'm not a potter. I can't make things you can eat your cereal out of, or drink your coffee from.
I seem compelled to make items and objects that are frivolous, dust collecting, you know, not useful.
But I love to make pieces that are....well, unusual? Silly even? Weird? - sometimes!
I hope that you look through my shop and find something that makes you smile, or 'oooohh' and 'aaah' a little bit.
Loving the whimsical in life.

Hello and welcome!
After a lifetime of crafting and creating on the side I recently decided to take the plunge after the birth of my third (and final!) child to go full time as an artist/maker. My particular passion is ceramics, I enjoy using a variety of clays depending on what I'm producing;porcelain for exquisite impressed and incised patterns and a clarity of colour (great for buttons), black stoneware for sculptural pieces, white earthenware for a fine clean surface that lends itself to form and decoration. Textiles are also a means for creative expression, and give me a break from the dictates of clay.

Is my life as a maker relaxing?...No! But fulfilling?...A definite yes!

I hope you enjoy the pieces I make, they are all hand produced and unique. I am happy to be contacted to discuss custom orders...please don't hesitate to convo me about pieces, policies or any questions generally, whether it's about shipping, payment or even the processes in my work. I look forward to hearing from you!
