5 out of 5 starsThe fabric I used (the recommended woven canvas) frayed easily, so these are a few things that I did to make the fabric stay together long enough for me to finish the project and cover the unfinished seams with bias tape: - After fusing the interfacing to the fabric, I stay stitched the pieces about 1/8-1/4” away from the sides. I tried zigzag stitches for some parts, but I think straight stitches are more than adequate for this. - I cut out my pieces using a rotary cutter, not scissors.

Thanks for your review Alisa - you've made a really fabulous bag! We would always recommend woven fabrics with a tight weave for bags. These are going to be more durable and hardwearing, and a lot easier to handle, as I think you've discovered. Waxed canvas is always a great choice for bags for that reason, or nylon weaves, or even vinyl if you like working with it. Choosing great fabrics takes experience, and a good deal of mistakes along the way in my case! Best of luck with all your future projects - we can't wait to see what you make next!

5 out of 5 starsLove that it holds a water bottle, however when it does, the front pockets are unusable for anything that is not flat. The side pocket makes up for that.
