~~~How Keeley Behling Studios Was Created~~~
My story...Where do I begin? Ever since I was a little girl, I have always loved to create. It started with building blocks, legos, polly pockets, & Roxaboxen (It's a children's book by Alice McLerran). Roxaboxen is what my mom used to refer to my mini roads & cities I created outside in the dirt with small cars & dump trucks. I definitely wasn't a girly girl.
When I got to high school & college I studied watercolor, interior design, pottery, art history (I love history!), drawing & design. About this time I discovered I really enjoyed three dimensional art & working with my hands. I loved taking inanimate objects and turning them into something completely different! Thus my love for collecting & using game pieces & other found objects came about! I opened up my etsy shop back in 2010 & shared my love of excess (there was a lot) of vintage games & craft supplies while I figured out my passion.
Still trying numerous materials, styles, and methods I finally landed on silverware one day. I saw a Pinterest idea and thought...I can do that. I purchased my first stamp set, that I immediately broke within hours of using, and made my first spoon garden marker. I haven't looked back since.
Much more refined now, I create stunning one of a kind pieces from vintage re-purposed silverware using simplicity & bold lettering. Clean elegant lines create a classic look with a hint of vintage. I enjoy all parts of the process: silverware hunting, stamping, cutting, drilling, grinding, polishing & adding finishing touches. I think my favorite part of what I do is seeing the final product & the joy it brings to those who support my dreams...you!
