3 out of 5 starsThe art is lovely. I don't know much about poetry, so I'm not much of a judge of the poetry in this book, but I can say that some of it was too religious for my taste. I would not have bought the book if I had realized that the poems were written with facilitated communication; that was a big disappointment since it left me in the dark as to whether or not this non-verbal woman really wrote them at all. Since there is no way for me to judge this, I can't give any weight to what "she" had to say. Also, part of the title is "How it Feels to be Nonverbal." I didn't read all of the poems in the book, but I came across very little that had anything to do with how it feels to be nonverbal. I bought the book because one of my sons is non-verbal. I also liked that the family is from my home state and that they homeschool.

5 out of 5 starsPerfect title Kimberly! Thank you so much for sharing your point of view and life with us. As a special needs bus driver, your testimony helps me give even more compassion to the kids, parents, and siblings of those that can AND cannot communicate! I expect to see more.
