I've been a loyal Etsian since the early days and helped to kickstart my mom's book-themed Etsy shop (you can find her at http://exlibrispurses.etsy.com) back in 2008. I created my own little business back in the fall of 2010 and have been here ever since!
Unlike other Etsy shops that sell items made from photocopies and scans of a few favorite pages of a book, I always repurpose the real thing in my products, so you're purchasing something that is genuine and one-of-a-kind (not to mention eco-friendly)! I also try to source all of my "raw goods" from other Etsians when I can - from the chain your necklace hangs from to the bag it comes packaged in. I love that I'm able to support small businesses like my own to create my products!
I will always be an English teacher at heart, so it makes me happy to spend time with my favorite books whenever I'm at my worktable. I love to see which books my customers get excited about: the Betsy-Tacy stories, Anne of Green Gables novels, and Little Women are some of the most-requested titles for custom necklaces.
When I'm not creating, I'm reading late into the night, working on my idea for a children's book, and taking care of my two darling daughters.
