Creative living every day
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved making jewelry. From beads using strips of magazines and fimo, to safety bin bracelets, to seed bead flowers, I have dabbled in different mediums since childhood.
I began metalsmithing in 2011, under the direction of Boston artist Laurie Savage. During this time, my aesthetic has transformed as I have honed in on my skills and interests. The jewelry that I am now making is officially debuting online in late May 2016.
Since I began learning how to metalsmith, I have been fascinated by the look of hammered silver. It amazes me how a process that is both harsh and random can lead to something so beautiful and feminine.
I believe in creating pieces that are feminine and elegant, yet functional and can be easily worn every day. I also aim to be as environmentally-friendly as possible, work primarily with recycled sterling silver and using packaging made from recycled materials.
I work primarily out of my home studio in Somerville, MA, just outside of Boston. I am a work-from-home/stay-at-home mom of a creative and wonderful 2-year-old, Eve. I do my work in spurts, in the early morning hours before my family wakes up, while she naps, and on the weekends.
I believe passionately in living creatively and believe it is an important outlet that allows me to stay sane. In addition to making jewelry, I am a blogger, freelance writer, and author of the book, The Busy Mom's Guide to Creativity (available on Amazon).
