Passion in Life = Passion in the Studio
++++++ What I Do ++++++
Crafted with love in my home studio, I focus on designing and creating handmade sculptures, paintings, and mixed media pieces which are rich in texture, color, and feeling. Adding a piece of my fine art to your collection is a great way to express your unique and authentic nature at home.
Give a gift of delight to a friend, partner, or to yourself… from my hands to yours.
Thank you for supporting my work. I enjoy creating and sharing these works with like-minded friends. I hope my efforts delight you!
++++++ Why I Create ++++++
I often find myself in discussions about the nature of our western culture and ‘how things got to be this way’, which prompts deep reflection. Why are things hidden away? Why not be radically colorful? Why are some so hurtful to others? Why all the masks to hide ourselves - sometimes even from ourselves? Where did we come from and where are we going? What is the meaning of life?
I believe “Love is Love” regardless of who people are: where they’re from, whom they love, or what they look like.
++++++ Who We Are ++++++
Passion has driven her artistic endeavors for years. Starting with collage and painting, she moved into mixed media and sculpture, finding the tactile nature of the ‘building’ aspect of creation feeds a wholly different need than that of embellishment, be it with paint, baubles, fur, or fabric. Primarily self-taught, the sky's the limit for her - from materials used to colors employed. From the initial idea of a piece, her heart and hands go from there, allowing the piece to “speak” and direct her efforts, bringing excitement, delight, and meditation in the process.
He, primarily an art appreciator, is both her muse and inspiration, providing much needed support and feedback…and he’s a great cheerleader as well. More recently, he has become her studio assistant, where he assists in some critical moldmaking and casting processes. We’ll see, with time, what more he takes on!
We are passionate about the environment as well as each other. Thinking about shipping and all the plastic bubble was depressing, so we put time into finding alternatives. You’ll find that most of the art comes to you in recyclable eco-friendly materials, as that is important to us. Please reuse the packing materials when you wrap something up for someone…or add to the recycling stream rather than throwing it in the trash.
Thanks!
