Announcement    Hi there, thank you for visiting my little store. Each creation you see has been individually handcrafted by my own two hands in my home studio. I wedge the clay, sculpt, glaze, sand and fire each and every piece. Creating things with that extra glint of magic to bring light to the quiet spaces in your life.

I make things in small batches, sometimes they're even one off. No two creations will ever be the same but isn't that what makes handmade all the more special?

If you are willing to receive your item in a recycled packaging, please let me know in the note to sellers upon checkout and I'll see if I have anything suitable to reuse. This will help reduce waste and give a second life to the packaging material that have so much more to give!

Remember to appreciate the little things ☀

About

Ceramics & Illustrations with a Glint of Magic

Hi there, I’m Chien Nie and I’m the maker behind Lithops Studio. My name is Chien Nie pronounced 'chee-an nee' but most on the interwebs calls me Chien so I figured why not just Jen which sounds pretty close.

I have been dabbling in crafts ever since I was a little girl. I’ve stuck my fingers in all sorts of different making techniques; pottery, metal smithing and wire wrapping to name a few. I really enjoy making things. I draw inspiration from all things nature; twigs and leaves, pebbles by the seashore, anything that makes me feel something.

Constantly, working to create treasures with an extra glint of magic!
.
I mainly work with ceramics for the pieces in my shop and I absolutely love the material. From an amorphous form of clay, it has the potential to become just about anything your mind and hands can conjure. Each piece meticulously handcrafted and fired numerous times before completion.

I hope my creations help bring light to the quiet place within you. Slow down, breathe and be present. A little too much, we lose sight of the now, the little things that matter, and they make all the difference.

A little reminder, don’t forget to breathe.

I love making and I just hope that joy gets passed on to whoever receives my creations.

Love & Light
Jen

Returns and exchange details
---------- REFUNDS, EXCHANGES & CANCELLATIONS ----------

My creations are lovingly made entirely by hand, so there may be slight variations in color, size or decor with respect to the photographs. This is not a defect, it is part of the personality of each piece that makes it unique.

Items will be packed up cosily, quite often with recycled filling materials and to keep things as green as possible. I will do my very best to keep the items safe from knocks and bumps while on their way to you. However, if the parcel has been mishandled on its way to you and your item arrives damaged, please contact me and provide me a photograph of the damage and we can further find a solution from there.

---------- Returns ----------

Items sold are generally not refundable but do contact me and we'll see if we can find an alternate solution together!

In the rare case of a return, the customer will be responsible for shipping the item back, unused and in its original packaging back to my return address. Shipping costs to return the item will be borne by the customer and once I have received the item in good condition, then will a refund on the RETAIL PRICE ( minus shipping) be refunded.

---------- EXCHANGES ----------

Exchanges are not accepted unless I have made an error in packing your order (wrong item sent for example). However, please contact me if you have any issues.

---------- CANCELLATIONS ----------

Cancellations are generally not accepted however please contact me and we'll see what we can do.

---------- ESTIMATED SHIPPING TIMES ----------

LOCAL ORDERS to Singapore take an average of 2-5 working days to arrive.

INTERNATIONAL ORDERS ( anywhere out of Singapore ) take an average of 2 weeks to a month to arrive. This is based on my own personal experience however there are always anomalies. Weather conditions can cause delays and sometimes the local customs hold on to parcels for way too long before dispatching. If you see that your parcel has arrived in the country but hasn't been sent out to you, your best bet is to head down to the post office closest to you to enquire. Lithops Studio is not responsible for shipping delays caused by the postal service.

You can use the tracking number provided with your order to track your parcels. You have access to the same information as I have.

Orders to Canada specifically tend to take longer. They usually arrive in the country in a timely manner but it takes a long time before the local postal service dispatches the parcel to your exact address. In cases like these it's best for you to head to the post office closest to you as well to check on the status of your parcel.

---------- DOMESTIC SHIPPING (SINGAPORE) ----------

Upon successful receipt of payment, items will be promptly packed and mailed out within 3-5 working days (unless otherwise stated). Parcels take about 2-5 working days to reach you after they have been dispatched.

All packages will be sent via registered mail. Registered mail will include a tracking number and you will need to sign for the article; otherwise, a notice will be left at your door for collection or redelivery.

Items will be shipped to the Etsy address listed in your order. To avoid shipping delays and errors, please make sure to input the right address! If you wish to have the item shipped to another address, please let us know via the ‘ message to seller ‘ segment upon purchase.

Sadly, after the parcel has left my hands I will no longer have control over it beyond checking the tracking provided with your order. However do contact me if you face any issues.

All your treasures will be carefully packed and ready for gifting! However, depending on the size and shape of the item, packaging may differ to suit the item. I try my best to use packaging that is compostable and am constantly looking at greener alternatives.

I often try to recycle packaging material, bubble wrap, boxes and so on. However, I make it a point to make each item ready for gifting, so rest assured that your treasures will arrive beautifully packaged.

Care and Maintenance

My pieces have gone through firings in the kiln to make them hardy and strong! However, they are still breakable if knocked/dropped onto hard surfaces or too much pressure is applied on the piece.

Totems, trinkets and jewellery should always be handled with care, they are not toys. If broken they can have sharp edges making them unsuitable for young children.

To clean them, just wash with mild soap and water.

Any piece with metallic lustre applied is not microwave safe.
