My name is Joanna, and I always have to be doing *something*. I can't just sit still and watch TV or listen to a podcast - productivity is essential to my wellbeing, and nothing is more satisfying than watching one of my hand-embroideries creep toward completion, slowly but surely. Since I bought my first embroidery kit over 10 years ago (!) I've come a long way in skill, but more importantly I've found my style - the thing that makes my work unique.

Inspiration can strike at any time - a snatch of lyrics echoing for days, a line in a book that tucks itself into a coil of my brain, an image or a character that flashes before me until I finally find time to recreate it using thread.

I live and work (full-time) in London, so spare time is hard to come by, but when I do find some you'll most likely find me needle in hand, meticulously back-stitching some phrase or portrait, or challenging myself with new and different ways to commit my thoughts to fabric.

Embroidery is my passion, and I crave it. For me, creation is the key, so I prefer not to stitch the same thing over and over again. Every item added to my shop is one of a kind, and once it's sold I'm unlikely to replicate it (though if you ask nicely I'll be happy to do so, or to come up with a variation on an existing design). Though I'm always overflowing with my own ideas, I love custom order requests too, as they push me to think differently and try new things.
