Unique, Handcrafted Jewelry made in Maine

Lori discovered her love of jewelry making by accident in 2004 when she signed up for a beginners' metalsmithing class as a way to meet people in her new hometown of York, Maine. She immediately fell in love with the tactile, hands-on processes of creating wearable art, and it wasn’t long before she sold her first piece — a seaglass necklace for a bride’s wedding day. Lori's love of animals soon found its way into her craft and she branched out to begin creating custom tags for cats and dogs.

Over the past fourteen years, Lori has picked up all sorts of metalsmithing and finishing techniques and built up a studio in the tiny loft of her home. She named her little company Lofted Designs and built this beloved hobby into a small business with a faithful following.

Lori has always been passionate about a number of causes and donates a portion of proceeds to non-profit organizations each quarter. Thanks for your support!

Hi. I'm Lori and Lofted Designs is a big idea in a tiny loft. Thanks so much for stopping by! Everything you see in my shop is handcrafted personally by me in a loft studio on the coast of Maine. You can read more about it at

A portion of the proceeds from my jewelry is donated to local charities each quarter. Many people have supported me in the creation of Lofted Designs and this is my small way of paying it forward. I believe giving back to the community is extremely important and a different charity benefits each quarter. Sometimes it is an animal shelter. Other times it's an environmental group or soup kitchen. It's my small way of giving something back with your help.

I take great pride in my work and I want you to be happy with it. If you are unhappy with your purchase for any reason, please contact me by email to arrange a return within 30 days of purchase. Items must be returned in new, unworn condition to receive a full refund.

Custom pieces (including stamped/personalized items) may NOT be returned. Before placing your order, please consider that all Lofted Designs custom stamping is done by hand with individual letters and alignment and spacing may vary.

Shipping fees are non-refundable.
This store uses Direct Checkout and PayPal for payments. These payment services automatically encrypt your confidential credit card information using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). You are not required to have a PayPal account to purchase from this store, although if you already have a PayPal account you may use it.

This store also accepts personal checks and money orders by mail, however these must be received and cleared before your order can be shipped. A fee may be charged for insufficient funds on personal checks.
Already-made (in stock) items will be shipped within 3-4 business days of the order date. Custom made items including all rings will take a bit longer (see item descriptions for details). PLEASE NOTE: Turnaround time for all custom items (including all rings) is currently two weeks from date of payment. Thank you for your understanding.


I ship all packages using USPS First Class shipping. Lofted Designs is not responsible for lost packages. USPS Priority or Express shipping can be arranged and insurance can be added for an additional fee. Please email me before placing your order if you would like to request expedited shipping or insurance. If your Etsy and PayPal mailing addresses differ, I will ship to the address you have on file with Etsy.

If you are ordering from outside the U.S. or Canada, please convo me ahead of time to be sure I can ship to your country. Some countries have very strict regulations about shipping silver, precious stones and other valuable materials. Any duty or VAT/GST costs are the responsibility of the buyer.

One-of-a kind...
The items pictured for sale are the actual items you will receive unless otherwise stated. Just about everything I make is one-of-a-kind, so if you love it buy it! There may never be another one just like it.

Ring sizing...
Figuring out ring sizing can be very tricky! Every finger can be a different size and finger size can fluctuate with the seasons. It's not an exact science. I want your ring to fit comfortably, therefore I offer complimentary re-sizing if we don't get it exactly right the first time (available in the continental US only). How does it work? Send me a convo for my return shipping address. You'd pay to ship the ring back to me (preferrably along with another ring that fits you well), I'll re-size the ring I made and pay to ship it back to you via USPS First Class mail. If you live outside the continental United States, I recommend having your ring re-sized by a local jeweler.

To care for your jewelry...
Over time, sterling silver will tarnish. To help prevent this, store silver jewelry in a jewelry box or tightly sealed plastic bag. Avoid wearing silver jewelry when swimming in chlorinated water. To clean and remove tarnish, polish silver gently with a soft polishing cloth. Some build-up of tarnish may also occur on seaglass and other beads and stones used in my jewelry. Seaglass, beads and stones can be cleaned by scrubbing gently using a mild detergent and a soft bristle brush (old toothbrushes work well).

What if it breaks?...
I hope you will never have this problem, but if something you purchase from my store should break, I will gladly fix it for you. Pieces in need of repair within 6 months of purchase will be repaired at no charge. If a repair is needed after the first 6 months, labor costs plus the cost of materials needed for the repair will be charged. An estimate will be provided before any work is done. Shipping fees for all repairs are the responsibility of the buyer.
This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me, contact me, or otherwise use my services through or its related sites and services. This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of third parties that I do not own or control, including Etsy or any third party services you access through Etsy. Information Sharing and Disclosure
Information about my customers is important to my business. I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:

I generally keep your data for 2 years following your order, however if you sign up for my mailing list I retain it for the duration of your subscription.

If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases. I describe these rights below:
-Access. You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
-Change, restrict, delete. You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
-Object. You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons.
