My shop is about imagination, fun, laughter and play. I want people (teens, kids, adults, whoever!) to feel free express themselves in an imaginative way.

Lolicrafts began as a pencil sketch and two very bad hats. I had no prior sewing experience and had to borrow a friend's machine to sew, but I was thrilled. I began to make hats and gifts for my friends, and soon I had my very own Brother sewing machine (the same one I still use today to make everything in my shop)
I stumbled across this website called Etsy and suddenly I had an avenue to sell the fun little creations I had started to make. My first sale was a Crazy Squid Hat, which is still one of my favorite designs, though I don't offer it in the shop anymore.
Many of the things I offer in the shop are the result of custom requests, but I also try a lot of new ideas as inspiration strikes. I have a passionate love for animals, so most everything starts from that place. When I get inspired to make a new type of headband or tail, I sit down and search through photos to get the idea of how the actual animal looks. Then I do a pencil sketch on paper of the basic shape. I cut that out and test it with fabric. After a bit of refining I'll have my finished headband. Some things become surprisingly popular, as in the case of the Deer Headband with Antlers, and some things don't sell at all. I'm always relying on my customers to tell me what people are searching for out there on the internet.

It's exciting to be able to tell people that I run my own business selling hand-made things online. I feel satisfied to be using my talents to make money. It is an incredibly rewarding job, especially when I get to hear how much people sincerely appreciate owning something I have made.
