A Message on why I do not offer “Free” shipping...

Etsy announced that starting July 30th, sellers who offer "free" US shipping over $35 will get priority placement in searches. While offering us a tool to raise our prices to give "free" shipping. So to all my FABulous customers, these are the reason I do not offer "free" shipping.
1. To offer "free" shipping I would have to raise my prices for ALL items. This would mean international buyers would be paying more even though they would not benefit from "free" shipping. AND I combine shipping. So if I raise prices on all items and give "free" shipping, my customers who purchase more than one item would end up paying a LOT more.
2. I believe in being honest and transparent in running my business. You know the price of the item and the price of shipping so that you know you are not getting gouged on pricing.
So I hope even though I am not giving you "free" shipping you will know that I only charge the actual shipping, I don't even charge for my packing supplies. And in some cases I even pay extra shipping to keep it affordable and I "eat" the rest. I try to price fairly on my items and shipping and I appreciate your support of my work!! ♥ LK

**All of my frozen Charlotte dolls and doll parts I use in my work are antique, NOT reproduction. I find a character, detail and history in the antique dolls that I do not see in the reproductions. Each one seems to have a life of its own. If I do use a vintage doll or doll that I cast it will be clearly noted in the description. **

* A note to my dear International Customers* USPS has raised postal rates AGAIN . Example of a rates: To ship package under 5 oz from my state to Australia, the UK and Canada the actual shipping cost is now $13.30. Over 5oz. but under 1 pound is $21.00. I know some shops ship for less, but I do not mark my items up for loss of shipping. If you are interested in more than one item, please convo me! I am happy to give the lowest shipping I can depending on your country. Many countries a package can ship the same at under one pound or under 3. I will ALWAYS refund any shipping overage over $1 for shipping.

This is Where I Belong...

Here at Lorelie Kay Designs I offer a wide varity of art including Frozen Charlotte jewelry and art and many other types of mixed media and assemblage art creations. And like you they are all an original! First let me start by saying that I am the Queen of Typo's!! ! My brain is usually 10 steps ahead of where I am at any moment so I apologize in advance for typo's in my listings. I would rather be creating than proof-reading :-) In high school I got A's in art classes and actually got kicked OUT of typing class and sent to the Principles office! True story.

Now for the fun stuff... I think I came out of the womb with a vivid imagination! I was always making things for my parents and leaving them little gifts on their pillows. Even as a young child I was content to spend hours by myself and let my imagination go free! But I never felt I was "good enough" so I just kept my creating tucked away inside, only letting a few people see anything I did.

When I was in my late 30's I was diagnosed with arthritis. I was told that I would need both hips replaced by the time I was 50. I needed an outlet to get out of my head, so I started creating. At 42 came my first hip replacement. And then I started creating with a vengeance! I found a peace of mind in my art that I had never had. My body was telling me to slow down, so I left my demanding job as an antique mall owner and started Lorelie Kay Designs.

Now I feel so lucky to now be able to create my art full time. I have a two working studio spaces in my home and my dream studio in my backyard. My mission is to create original, one-of-kind art that makes people smile! I also feel it is important to create affordable pieces so everyone can own a piece of art that brings them joy. I often have people tell me my prices are too low but I strive to keep my prices affordable for most. I am a down-to-earth girl from Iowa. I price my art what I would pay for it. I create for the love of my art...

I really believe there is a reason things happen. I believe you end up right where you belong. I know if I was able to do many of the physical things I did before arthritis, I never would be here doing my art. And I know that this is right where I belong...

Being in the retail business most of my life, customer service is VERY important to me. I do my best to create quality items that make you feel special (because you are!) I am here to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

I try my hardest to describe all of my items and take photos that accurately represent each creation. However I realize there still may be an issue with fit.

I want you to be happy with your purchase! If you are not pleased contact me within 3 days of receipt of your purchase. I will be glad to issue a store credit if you are not happy with your purchase. I will issue the credit once the item is returned within 7 days it it's original condition. PLEASE let me know if you are not happy and I am sure together we can work something out!

If there was an error on MY part return shipping will be paid by be via a preprinted mailing label I will email to you. No shipping refund for original or return shipping will be issued if you, as the buyer, changes your mind, refuses or does not claim a package and it is returned.

Shipping
Your happiness in my goal! Your purchases will be packed with love and care. Purchases will be shipped to the address on file with Etsy at checkout. Please let me know if you are shipping a gift and I will make it extra special :-)

I ship by U.S. mail. I will have purchase sent off to you within 24 hours. Holidays and weekends might delay this time frame.

It is MY responsibility to make sure your package arrives safe and sound! If there are any problems please contact me. I pack very carefully, but on the rare occasion something can happen. I ship everything with delivery confirmation and insured. If there is any problem please contact me and I will make sure it is taken care of ASAP! I

t’s my responsibility to file any Insurance claims as long as proof of damage by photo is provided, so I can submit it to the carrier. A refund will be immediately issued to the buyer if there is any damage in delivery once photo on Priority mail packages. I may require a First class package sent back, and will issue a prepaid shipping label. In that case, a refund will be issued when the item is received back If an item shows “Delivered” on the tracking, but it is not received, sadly it is out of my control and you would need to talk to your mail carrier or local post office. If you have any problems at all please do not hesitate to contact me!

It is so hard to calculate shipping on heavy or multiple items. I only charge actual shipping so if you overpay I will promptly refund any overage. If the shipping seems too high on multiple or heavy items please do not hesitate to contact me with your country and I will weigh and get you an exact quote. Thank you for your understanding!

All items are shipped through customs as merchandise with purchase price listed. I am sorry, I cannot mark as gifts, as to do so, could put me under a penalty by law.

What payments do you accept?

I gladly accept all forms of major credit cards and payments via Etsy direct Checkout.

When will my items ship?

You receive the exact piece shown in the listing. I ship the same or next business day.

Do you have sales or offer discounts?

I try very hard to price my items fairly for the time and materials in each piece and to keep them affordable. I work very hard on creating quality items and have many hours invested in seaching for treasures to create with. I also believe in upfront pricing therefore I do not run sales or general coupons. Be assured when you purchase from me you have my best price. Occasionally I may mark a piece down but very seldom and only after I have had it is a very long time. Sometimes it takes a while for each piece to find it's right person! :-)

Are The Dolls You Use Antique

YES! All the frozen Charlotte dolls and doll parts I use are antique and come from Germany. I may cast my own dolls in metal or use a vintage piece on occasion, but it will always be clearly noted in my description.

Do you offer reserves or layaway?

Sadly because of past experience with people "Reserving" items and changing their minds, I am no longer able to "Reserve" items. If you need time to pay for an item I am happy to work something out. Since each situation is unique, just contact me and I am sure together we can work something out!

Wholesale availability

I am sorry, but do to the nature of my items and the time and material it takes to make them I am unable to offer wholesale.

Custom and personalized orders

I have to follow where my creativity takes me so I do not, in general, do custom orders. If I am able, I am happy to take an order if it is based on something I have made in the past. However since all my items are one-of-a-kind, most using vintage pieces, I cannot duplicate exactly.

Why I don't offer "Free Shipping"

I believe in transparency in my selling. I do not believe in "padding" my items costs to offer "free shipping". Because as the saying goes, nothing is free! I am a small independent artist and cannot afford to "eat" shipping. I always charge only actual shipping costs and I refund any excess shipping over $1. I also pay any overage as sometimes it is just hard to calculate exactly. Thank you for your understanding! :-)
