This Privacy Policy describes how and when I collect, use, and share information when you purchase an item from me or contact me through Etsy. It doesn’t apply to third parties including Etsy or any third-party services you access through Etsy.
Information I Collect
So I can fulfil your order, you have agreed for Etsy to provide me with information such as your name, email address, postal address, payment type, and the details of the item you’re ordering. You may also provide me with other personal information (for a custom order, for example), if you contact me directly.
Why I Need Your Information and How I Use It
The legal bases I rely on to collect, use, and share your information include:
• providing my services – using your information to fulfil your order, or to provide customer support;
• when you’ve consented to other services or contact such as signing up for my mailing list (which you may revoke at any time);
• complying with a legal obligation or claim, for example if required by tax law; and
• for my legitimate interests, but only where those legitimate interests aren’t overridden by your rights or interests, such as providing and improving my services and complying with the Etsy Seller Policy and Terms of Use.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
I share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
• Etsy. I share information with Etsy as necessary to provide you my services and comply with my obligations under both the Etsy Seller Policy and Etsy Terms of Use.
• Service providers. I engage certain delivery companies to fulfil my orders. I only share your personal information as needed with these parties, to ensure delivery of your items.
• Complying with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I believe it’s reasonably necessary to respond to legal process or government requests; enforce my agreements, terms and policies; prevent, investigate, or address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.
Data Retention
I retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to process the transaction and I will securely store any data collected during that period. I retain data related to orders or customer queries for 6 months. I do not store or process your information through any third-party data hosting services.
Your Rights
You have the right to know what personal data I hold about you, and to ask for that data to be changed, limited or deleted. You also have the right to object to my use of some of your information for my legitimate interests and/or marketing purposes if you have previously consented to my use of this information. If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information, you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.
