Quilting memories and keeping textiles out of landfills

Years of making memory quilts and t-shirt quilts has significantly heightened my awareness to the problem of textile waste. I have become increasingly motivated to do my part in keeping textiles (of which Americans discard approximately 13.1 million tons a year) out of landfills. MemorythreadsNYC contains products made from reclaimed textiles, quilt remnants, and tiny fabric scraps that would otherwise head to the dump. Even the tiniest scrap can be transformed into something beautiful and useful.
