Love of design.
When we moved to Oakland in 2016, from San Francisco, I was surprised at the amount of wildlife inhabiting such an urban area, even right next to a freeway. Deer, raccoons, opossums, coyotes, skunks and lots and lots of birds. Having no prior interest or great knowledge of birds, but a great affinity for mid-century modern architecture, and design, which is plentiful in The Bay Area, combined with a love of DIY and home improvement, a synergy evolved. As a Creative Director in the Visual Effects world, I parlayed that design aesthetic into these creations, which I would give to friends and family, which were always greeted with a hearty, "you should SELL these!" So, there you go.
