This mobile looks AMAZING and Mark packaged it up very nicely with friendly instructions. Right now I'm looking around for another good spot to hang one - maybe my classroom? In any case, I love its subtle movement and hand-worked beauty; I wouldn't hesitate to order again.

---------------------Fun Stuff That Moves-------------------------- Handmade Mobiles, Stabiles & Swirlgigs by Mark Leary

I have always been fascinated by stuff that moves (and other people's garbage, but that's another story ... see to see what I mean).

As an artist living in the mountains of Bend, Oregon, where the high desert air is constantly twisting and twirling, I've pretty much found the perfect muse to inspire my swirlydirty adventure with mobiles.

I enjoy bumping up against our relationship to place, particularly the place of nature in our lives, and this is reflected in the shapes I choose to work with and the designs that emerge implying feathers layering on a wing, leaves rustling in the wind, or bubbles rising into the air.

The results range from works of peaceful simplicity, featuring repetitive shapes spinning hypnotically on an air current, to whimsical jumbles of bright colors and bouncy motion that vibrate with energy and joy.

All of my mobiles are hand cut, shaped, sanded, primed, painted, and assembled one at a time. No templates, no mass production, and - despite the rumors - no team of elves.

It's just me in the shop with Buddy the Cat enjoying good tunes while creating some fun art for you.

I say: “Keep it simple. Keep it real.” I hope in some small, yet wonderful way my mobiles will help you remember to do the same. Oh, and don't forget: it's okay to laugh, too. Cheers!
