Mountain Brook - A Family Tradition
**Mountainbrook - A Family Tradition**
At Mountainbrook, our story is woven from generations of craftsmanship, family bonds, and a deep love for creating meaningful keepsakes. It all began with my grandparents, Dave and Nancy Bjorkgren, who started this journey many years ago when my mother was still very young. Growing up amidst the scent of freshly cut wood and the hum of saws, she learned the art of woodworking alongside her family, embracing a tradition passed down through countless hands. Over the years, other family members contributed their unique skills, each adding their touch to what would become Mountain Brook.
My grandfather, a true dreamer, pursued many paths in his lifetime. Yet, despite exploring new ventures, he kept Mountain Brook alive, nurturing it as his cherished pet project. Though the business shrank at times, it never disappeared entirely. It was a symbol of family, perseverance, and craftsmanship—something he cherished deeply. When he passed away, the loss was profound, and carrying on the legacy felt like an uphill battle. But with time and love, we found our way back to Mountain Brook, inspired by his spirit and dedication.
Today, Mountainbrook is a family affair once more. My mother, Corrie, is a talented scroll saw artist whose delicate silhouettes and intricate designs breathe life into each piece. She handles the creation of our products with patience and precision, pouring her skill and passion into every cut. My grandmother, Nancy, lends her steady hand and artistic eye as our painter and shipping coordinator, ensuring that each item is finished beautifully and arrives safely to our customers across the world.
Our mission at Mountainbrook is simple: to honor our family’s heritage by creating authentic, handcrafted pieces that bring joy and connection. Every item we make is a reflection of our love for craftsmanship and the stories that inspire us. We believe that the beauty of a handmade object lies in the care and history embedded within it, and we hope our work becomes a part of your story too.
We are genuinely excited to share our creations with you. Knowing that our work can bring a little warmth, nostalgia, or inspiration into your life makes all the effort worthwhile. Thank you for supporting a family tradition that spans generations. From all of us here at Mountainbrook, we hope you enjoy our products as much as we enjoy making them.
With gratitude,
Shinnelle (Granddaughter to Nancy and David), and the whole Mountain Brook family
