Io e mia figlia lavoravamo a maglia la domenica mattina. Mentre lavoravamo a maglia, guardavamo gli Youtuber Arne e Carlos. I loro video presentavano principalmente tutorial di lavoro a maglia, ma anche uncinetto, cucina, decorazione delle vacanze e altri progetti creativi. Una mattina avevano un tutorial sulla creazione di libri. Ne ero affascinato. Abbiamo fatto un paio di libri quel pomeriggio e da allora li ho fatti - per lo più da carte artigianali che si erano accumulate. Avevo (e ho ancora) una scorta impressionante di carte e tutti i libri sono fatti da quelli, così come le carte che normalmente finirebbero nei sacchetti di carta della spazzatura, buste, carte da imballaggio e simili. Alcune copertine sono realizzate con scatole di cereali e altri imballaggi. Molte delle foto di copertina sono foto che ho scattato, alcune risalenti ai primi anni '90. Altre copertine provengono da istantanee vintage, un'altra cosa che colleziono da diversi anni. Così la mia pila di carte si è trasformata in una pila di libri fatti a mano. cos'altro potevo fare se non aprire un negozio Etsy!

My daughter and I used to knit on Sunday mornings. While we knitted, we would watch Youtubers Arne and Carlos. Their videos featured mostly knitting tutorials, but also crochet, cooking, holiday decorating and other creative projects. One morning they had a tutorial on book making. I was fascinated. We made a couple of books that afternoon and I've been making them ever since--mostly from craft papers that had been piling up. I had (and still have) an impressive stash of papers and all the books are made from those as well as papers that would ordinarily wind up in the trash-paper bags, envelopes, packing papers and the like. Some covers are made from cereal boxes and other packaging. Many of the cover photos are photos I've have taken, some dating back to the early 90s. Other cover art comes from vintage snapshots, something else I've been collecting for several years. So my stack pf papers has turned into a stack of handmade books. what else could I do but open an Etsy shop!
