nerasaDesign - the story of us
Hi, my name is Rasa, which means Dew in Lithuanian.
My shop is opened long time ago. In 2012. Back then it was quite different. It had different name, different things in it.
Back then I was working as full time programmer. On my free time I was sewing soft toys and I have opened an ETSY shop with no big plans. As time went past I realized I did not have time for managing an ETSY shop. So it was just hanging there with few of my toys in it with no much more happening there.
When I got pregnant and finished sewing courses I started creating clothes for myself, for my baby, my husband. Literally for everyone around me. I figured out that when the baby is born I seriously want to try myself in handmade business. I do not want to go back sitting by computer all day.
So here I am again with comfortable, stylish, modern everyday clothing and accessories for all the family - the things that I believe in very much.
I always sew something for myself, my husband or my baby. We wear those items in everyday life. We see what is missing, what is wrong. I fix it, change it and only the final product is given to you for evaluation.
I believe in Slow fashion and that an item purchased from my store should be worn not just for one season. It should make you happy a lot longer. I love cotton fabric, so a lot of my garments are made of cotton or cotton mix fabric. I try to throw out as little waste as possible. And to use every fabric to the smallest pieces. so any of it won't go to waste. From scraps of fabric I am sewing toys for little ones, clothes for our baby and other small kids. I am giving scraps for free to sewing moms. So the fabrics are used down to the last smallest piece.
This is my little story and I hope this is just the beginning of my new journey!
