A meaningful children’s book is a treasure for a lot of kids. My friend’s baby is due in January and I wanted to give her a book at the shower. This one was perfect. The protagonist is a sweet orange cat on various adventures (this book is based on the author’s Appalachian Trail thru-hike)—and children can easily put themselves in the shoes (paws?) of an animal. I adore this book and look forward to getting others in the series. Thank you!

Bozeman artist Nick Mask grew up in Gainesville, GA and moved out west after graduating from college in 2003. He lives and works in his Bozeman studio where he designs and builds unique home accents from reclaimed wood and other artwork. He is also the author/illustrator of the Waffles the Adventure Cat children’s book series. There are currently three books in the series: Waffles the Cat, Waffles in Space and Wafflesaurus Rex.
