A b o u t
Hi! My name is Sheryl and I’m the maker behind this minimalist, Scandinavian inspired jewelry line, Nordy Made. The name “Nordy” is a slang word that’s used to describe someone from Northern Ireland - the place where I was raised.
This business was officially born in 2017 out of a need for a creative outlet as a new stay-at-home mom, after leaving a 10 year Fashion Design career in NYC to move to Seattle, my husbands birthplace. I had fallen in love Scandinavian aesthetics from my travels as a Designer and it has influenced my work and life ever since. My line seems to encompass little pieces of the places I’ve been or lived including the PNW, and sometimes even our Mid-Century home.
As a busy mom of two, my goal is to create something that is effortless and timeless and based on a very neutral palette so that these pieces are easy to wear by anyone and for all occasions. Even though they are simple, they offer something unique like my signature and best selling Mila ear jackets. My materials include 14k gold fill, brass, sterling silver, gold plating, my signature white powder coating, walnut and more recently, mother of pearl and some semi precious stones.
My jewelry is designed and made in my West Seattle backyard home studio which is nestled among evergreen trees and surrounded by views of the mountains and water. You might see glimpses over on Instagram… Inspired by light and space, my jewelry is light in appearance, natural and easy on the eye; often with elements of contrast and a high shine. Neutral in color and simple in shape, these pieces can be worn in any season, with any color or style and are perfect for gift-giving!

Each order comes in a branded tab-locking recyclable shipping box with light packing materials. Jewelry pieces come in a reusable, thick organic cotton unbleached drawstring bag (great for travel!) and sample cleaning cloth, if applicable.

Additional gift wrapping can be added at checkout. Pieces ordered for a gift will come in a gold foil lined and branded jewelry box which is then wrapped in white and gold paper and finished off with white grosgrain ribbon.

Care instructions
c o n c r e t e - Our concrete is specially formulated, non-toxic and safe for wear unlike traditional construction concrete. By nature, this porous material and will become a little darker with a slight shine over time. Avoid excessive handling and contact with oil based products such as make-up. A damp paper towel with dot of mild soap can be used to spot clean. Be kind to your piece and avoid striking against hard surfaces.

w a l n u t - We finish our walnut with food grade Danish Oil. However, olive oil can be used to maintain its richness of color and to highlight the wood grain. Add a thin coat over the surface, allowing to soak in for a few seconds and wipe off excess with a paper towel. Be sure all excess is removed before allowing to come into contact with clothing.

b r a s s (raw) - Our raw brass is polished with a jewelry wax to protect against oxidation; a natural process with brass. This process can be slowed by avoiding wet and humid conditions, however, the brass can be maintained and polished up to its original shine by using a buffing pad or polishing cloth (included), while taking care to avoid concrete or walnut areas if applicable. See individual styles for material details.

g o l d p l a t i n g - Our chain and some charms are made from 24k gold plated brass while no care is needed, it's generally advised to avoid wet and humid conditions with jewelry.

l e a t h e r - leather details can be wiped down with a damp cloth. please avoid risk of scratches. A small amount of leather polish
may be used if necessary but take care to avoid non-leather areas.
Gift wrapping and shipping
all n o r d y jewelry comes in a beautifully simple white branded box with
n o r d y card insert, plush cotton fill and gold-fleck foiled tissue paper - perfect for gift giving or for treating yourself! Care instructions are included as well as a polishing cloth, depending on the style.
We generally ship via USPS (unless requested otherwise) and although each package comes with tracking and is wrapped securely for shipping; we cannot be responsible for lost, stolen or damaged packages.
